A clay figure in a chair by the window, holding a phone, looking up anxiously at thought bubbles of a letter, a question mark, an exclamation mark, and a clock

When you’re anxious about things
that haven’t even happened

Nothing has happened yet,
but the worry has already started.

When worries start feeding on each other—3 minutes.
If counting feels hard, just follow the on-screen guide.

“Got a minute to talk tomorrow?”
One line from your boss, and

“Did I mess something up?”
“Is my review bad?”
“They're not… letting me go, are they?”

Nothing has happened yet,
but your mind is already building the next scene, and the next.
Packing up your desk. Telling your family.

Then the next day, it turns out to be nothing.

If the worry is too big to count,

you can start by just following the on-screen breathing guide. It’s the Emergency meditation, about 3 minutes long.

For times like these

  • You keep predicting things that haven't happened
  • One worry spreads into another
  • You keep replaying the same situation in your head
  • You keep trying to solve something in your head that can't be solved

To get out of a worry,
you first have to notice you're caught up in it.

You can't stop anxious thoughts from showing up.
But when one thought spirals into the next, you can suddenly notice.

“I'm making up a story again.”

But while you're caught up in worry,
it's hard to notice that you are at all.

So True Meditation lets the app tell you when that moment comes.

How it works in the app

In True Meditation, you count silently as you breathe and double-tap the screen once per breath.
When you get caught up in a thought and your tap comes late, the app lets you know with a small vibration.

  1. Each double-tap moves the count up by one. The circle is only a guide to the rhythm — breathe at your own pace and it follows you.
  2. When your mind wanders and your tap comes late, the screen edges glow orange and the phone vibrates.
  3. Once you notice, double-tap again and carry on from the number you were on.

You can do it with your eyes closed. Tap at your own breathing pace — if a tap comes later than usual, the app takes it as a wandering mind and lets you know with a vibration.

Breathing→Thought→Vibration→Noticing→Back to breathing↺ Repeat

When to use itWhen you feel the anxious thoughts starting, open the app and double-tap — your breathing session starts right away.
After that, the app lets you know with a vibration each time you get caught up.

3 minutes, before the worry grows.

A clay figure in the same room, phone set down, calmly looking out the window, the thought bubbles drifted off small into an upper corner

Out of the worry,
and back to now.

The thoughts will come back, but you can notice again and come back again.

Whatever can be solved can still be solved after you notice.

If anxious thoughts are filling up your head,
step out of them with a short mindfulness meditation.

3 minutes, before the worry grows.

Frequently asked questions

Can I do it right when I'm feeling anxious?
Yes. Open the app and double-tap the screen, and your breathing session starts right away. Three minutes is all it takes.
If you lose count, the last number stays on the screen, so you can pick up from there.
I've never meditated before. Can I start with this?
Yes. There is nothing to learn beforehand and nothing to buy. The first time, a short voice guide shows you how to use the app—and the way you use it is the way you do mindfulness meditation. Turn the voice guide off once it feels familiar.
How much is free?
You can meditate the moment you install it, no sign-up needed. As a guest you get one Normal and one Emergency session a day, up to twenty breaths each.
And when you're learning, twenty breaths is plenty — about three to five minutes.

When you sign up, your first 7 days are the same as Premium: no limits on sessions or breaths, plus Sleep meditation and Challenge mode. No card needed, and you won't be charged automatically when the 7 days end.
After that you can keep using it for free: one Normal and one Emergency session a day, up to twenty breaths each, and Sleep meditation once a day for the first 30 days after sign-up. Your sessions are still saved and you can still share them. (Free accounts go up to Level 5; Challenge mode needs a subscription.)

Try it about ten times and you'll know whether it fits you.
When you want longer sessions, or more than one a day, you can subscribe. There are monthly and yearly plans.
Who made this app?
I started meditating because my thoughts never stopped.
When I did it myself, the hardest part was the noticing.
So I built the app to help with that part.
True Meditation is an app I built because I needed it.
