You were definitely studying—
and then, at some point, you stopped moving forward.
Halfway through a problem, you think of a friend,
you wonder about your phone,
you worry about your exam results.
Then you snap back
and realize you’ve been stuck on the same line for ages.
So: 3 minutes before you study.
In meditation, you practice the moment of noticing a wandering thought and coming back.
For moments like these
- You sit down to study, but your head keeps going somewhere else
- You come back from a break and can't settle in
- You spend more time on test worries than on the problems
- You've been sitting there for ages, but feel like you've barely studied
To get back to studying,
you first have to notice your mind has wandered.
You can't stop stray thoughts from showing up.
But when you've drifted from a problem into some other thought, you can suddenly notice.
“Oh. I'm off in my head again.”
But while you're studying,
it's hard to notice that your mind has wandered at all.
So True Meditation lets the app tell you when that moment comes.
How it works in the app
In True Meditation, you count silently as you breathe and double-tap the screen once per breath.
When your mind wanders and your tap comes late, the app lets you know with a small vibration.
- Each double-tap moves the count up by one. The circle is only a guide to the rhythm — breathe at your own pace and it follows you.
- When your mind wanders and your tap comes late, the screen edges glow orange and the phone vibrates.
- Once you notice, double-tap again and carry on from the number you were on.
You can do it with your eyes closed. Tap at your own breathing pace — if a tap comes later than usual, the app takes it as a wandering mind and lets you know with a vibration.
When to use itThree minutes before you start studying.
Right where you sit at your desk.
Once you notice,
back to the problem you were on.
The moment you practice in meditation
starts showing up while you study.
If you'd like to suggest it to your child
Every kid's mind wanders.
What matters isn't getting rid of stray thoughts.
It's noticing when you've drifted, and coming back to what you were doing.
The app doesn't stay on while they study.
They spend three minutes before studying counting breaths, then put the phone down.
From age 14, your child can install and use it on their own.
If they’re under 14, do the 3 minutes before studying together on your phone.
